A sad analysis of our current society and its relationship with economics: how much our life is influenced, driven by economics without a political address and how much we lack of culture.
The play was initially proposed in 2006, and it is more than actual today. The show is updated to the very last events affecting the Italian situation.
Marco Paolini opened the show a bit early walking off the stage through the audience: an ouverture about the meaning and how actual is the play.
On the stage, the "Mercanti di Liquore" group is the lovely original soundtrack: three astounding musicians (and composers) who play and sing becoming a second main character.
As usual the use of dialect sentences or just phrases is not just a cameo, but a wonderful way to emphasize feelings and accentuate characters, and the audience values it: either there were a lot of people from the Veneto region or the Italians are learning the Veneto dialect because of Marco Paolini :)
This was my first time to a live Marco Paolini's play and it seemed to me the most bitter one: the angriness is a kind of leading pain throughout the whole show.
Plays like Il racconto del Vajont or I-TIGI racconto per Ustica communicate resentment, but I've seen or heard them broadcasted by tv or radio programmes, and I miss Parlamento chimico - storie di plastica.
